Having your wedding abroad is becoming ever more popular. Therefore Save the Date Cards are a perfect way to let potential guests know of you upcoming wedding so they can plan their route, book their accommodation and ask their kind boss for time off work. Ideally they should be sent out 6-7 months before your big day with the official invitation sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding.

Save the Date cards also work for people who live abroad and  are coming home to celebrate their big day.

Remember not everyone needs a Save the Date Card e.g close family members

What makes a Save the Date card so important?

  • It allows people plenty of time to start planning.
  • You may not have all the details confirmed  for your wedding but at least this gets the event on your guests calendar.
  • It enables you to compile your guest list at a very early date
  • It is ideal for couples getting married abroad or couples returning home to get married

Save the Date cards can be specifically designed to suit a particular theme or colour scheme that you may have in mind and this in turn can be used for your wedding invitations and mass books etc.

Its a matter of reading the foreseeable future to the best of your ability but remember everyone who gets an RSVP should also receive an invitation!!!

What If I Need to Invite More People

The wonderful part of the Save the Date card is it’s flexibility.  You may not even have firmed up your entire wedding list but as you tick off names you can send a quick  Save the Date.

Most people appreciate the level of planning that goes into a wedding. Even though details like the hotel and church are critical for the majority of guests, getting plenty of notice of the date of your wedding can be as important, what good is a wedding when people can’t come due to a lack of notice.

Aunts, uncles, close relations  and friends will really really appreciate these cards and give them as much pride of placement on mantlepieces as the final wedding invitation.

This then leaves you with the peace of mind to get ready for the Big Day!
